The Dream
Eagle Custom Apparel began in 2004 as Dugout Sports, a small family-owned sporting goods store specializing in baseball and softball equipment. Tim and Lisa Dutton created this business to provide high-quality products for their children and the teams that they coached. After a poor experience hunting for the right sports equipment for his daughter, Tim realized the need for more expertise and excellent customer service in the industry was creating a barrier for many families and local sports teams to be able to outfit their players confidently.
Small Beginnings
Not long after that experience, Dugout Sports opened its doors in The Woodlands, Texas. After several years of servicing individual customers, local tournament teams, and high schools in the retail store, their clients asked for more custom apparel services, especially custom uniform options. Tim and Lisa bought their first screen-printing equipment and began screen-printing in-house, eventually developing embroidery and sublimation services.
Business Expansion
As the demand for custom apparel has grown, the retail store and the apparel production floor have expanded, more than tripling the square footage of the original store. In 2020, they launched the Eagle Custom Apparel brand to service their rapidly broadening clientele.

However, I grew up loving sports and played all the backyard sports I could. I have always been organized and had an entrepreneurial spirit, even back in high school.”
Tim has coached teams since he was 18 years old and has helped over 100 young female athletes, including his daughter, receive college scholarships to play softball at the collegiate level. Most recently, Tim helped lead his team to a top 10 national ranking and has helped build one of the country’s most highly respected softball organizations, with many of his players playing in the SEC, Big 12, Big 10, and several other major college conferences around the country.

Matt really took great care of me this week with a new glove that I bought there that was strung a little loose at the factory. He called up their glove repair guy on the fly and had it fixed and tightened down in less than an hour. The glove repairman made a special trip to dugout just for my glove and fixed it no questions asked. Try getting that level of service from a big box store!!
Our family has been shopping at Dugout Sports for 6 years and counting. We always turn to them for our boys’ baseball needs. In addition to our family’s personal shopping, we have used Dugout to supply our uniforms for our baseball organization. Kings Baseball is always happy to answer all who inquire out at the ball fields about where we get our sharp lookin’ gear… Dugout is the way to go.

My husband worked with Michael on our team uniforms. Michael answered every question, insured we understood everything, and delivered on his guarantee of quality uniforms. We live in Baytown, so this wasn’t close at all, but we wouldn’t go anywhere else. All of the staff is extremely helpful when shopping or gives you space when you’re just looking. They have all kinds of stuff for players, coaches and fans. You won’t be disappointed.
I was doing a favor for a family member and these folks really gave awesome customer service. I called and asked if they had what I needed. I told the young man that I was on my way. When I arrived an hour later, he had the pants waiting on me. He was really nice and answered all of our ridiculous questions. It was a great experience. I would recommend them for all of your baseball softball equipment needs.
Outstanding customer service. Purchased several different items from Dug Out Sports for my daughter including: softball glove, bat, softballs, helmet, fungo bat and batting gloves. The two employees working did a fantastic job fitting my daughter for the right equipment and answering any of our questions. They also have a live steamer to break the gloves in! It was a huge benefit to have that machine in the store. We will continue using them for softball gear.
